What this notice covers

This is a draft. It describes how the site is built today and what it will hold once the optional email list is switched on.

What we collect today

Analytics

No analytics run unless this page says so. If we switch on a cookie-free, privacy-focused counter, it will count page views without cookies or fingerprinting, and this page and the cookie notice will name the tool before it goes live.

Email list (not yet live)

If you sign up for El NiƱo alerts and checklists we will hold your email address and the date you asked. We use it only to send what you signed up for. Every message has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops all sending at once; we delete your sign-up record within 30 days if you ask, and the email tool may keep a suppression entry (the address only) so a removed address is not added again. The email tool is not chosen yet; this page will name it, and where it stores data, before the form appears.

Lawful basis: your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time.

Affiliate links

Some links earn us a commission. Clicking one takes you to the retailer, which has its own privacy policy. We do not pass your details to the retailer.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete data we hold about you, and object to its use. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. US visitors: we apply the same rights on request.

Contact

Write to the address on the corrections page and say "privacy" in the subject line. A dedicated data-protection contact will replace this once the domain is set.
